In order to pique his interest, Maude asked Boris, a wealthy attorney, to run my background check, claiming I had three applicants waiting for me. That was her way of driving up my price. She knew he’d be interested, and she was right. Within hours, he called to reprimand her for not saving me for him. Physically, I’d been exactly what he was looking for and he demanded the opportunity to meet me before the others. After explaining that I was a special case, he was undeterred. We met the following morning, were contracted by noon and went apartment hunting in the evening.
By the time we had sex for the first time, two days later, the only thing I really knew about him was that his name was Boris Malakhov, he was 36-years-old, unmarried, a fellow alumnus of Columbia and preferred dark-haired Mediterranean women. I could tell he liked me from the start, perhaps more than he expected. Since he was the first, he could have kept me to himself and prevented anyone else from contracting me, but he didn’t. There was a moment of hesitation. I saw it in his eyes. I left him in bed to join Felix for lunch and a last-minute contract review. He could have stopped me, but we agreed it was best to keep things professional, “no complications.”
Although I will deny it to my grave, I shed a few tears on my way to meet Felix Mahler, described to me only as the 43-year-old CEO of a multinational investment banking firm. Before Boris, I’d never had an orgasm during intercourse. My ex was a horrible, selfish lover who thought foreplay was limited to me going down on him. As you can imagine, he blew my mind. After a night of non-stop sex, I thought I was falling in love. It was an amateur mistake that was quickly rectified the first time I slept with Felix. Nothing could have prepared me for the divine devotion of the older and surprisingly virile, Mr. Mahler.
Felix arrives on schedule. He always does. With seconds to spare, I slip on some lacy lingerie, stockings and stilettos before greeting him at the door with his favorite drink. He is easy to please and quick to praise, but I enjoy surprising him. Although he is stunned by the view and manages to work in a few kisses, he appears to be in a horrible mood.
“What’s the matter?” I work at undoing his tie, while he caresses my breasts and nuzzles in closer.
“Your Russian is driving me crazy. He wants to buy me out of my contract, and he refuses to take no for an answer. I know you don’t believe me, but I’m almost certain he’s in the mob.” While he works his way to my nipples, he notices the curtains are slightly open. Leaving me to draw them closer and then circling back to bolt the door, he looks like a madman.
“What’s wrong with you? Do you think he’s watching us?” I try to deflect, anxious that perhaps he really was watching. Why would Boris do something like that? Felix is too sensible to have imagined it. Although he has no definitive proof, he’s been on this Russian mafia theory for the last few months. But those mobsters are full of tattoos and Boris is spotless. It doesn’t make sense.
“Sweetheart, you’re too smart to play dumb. I bet you he’s bullying Linus too. I’m not sure why he hasn’t resorted to calling our wives, as if that would matter.” Unbuttoning his shirt, I can see the outline of an erection forming in his trousers. The topic has turned him on, but I am unsure which part he finds arousing.
“Why wouldn’t it matter?” I help him pull off his undershirt and undo his belt. “And why the hell do you have an erection talking about Boris?”
“My love, you’re wearing see-through lingerie. Of course, I have an erection. If that asshole was standing in the room right now, I’m almost positive I would still be hard.”
“Oh, in that case...” Unzipping his pants, I pull out his gorgeous cock, drop to my knees and slide it down my throat.
“Oh, God damn. Sweetheart, let me get to the bed.” He tries to walk, but I hold him firm, pumping his shaft and allowing it to slide back and forth on my tongue. Eager to have full access, he grips my shoulders, pulls me up and pushes me towards the bed.
Gazing at me with glowing affection, he smiles. “As much as I love your enthusiasm, I need a taste of my own. I have a long list of atrocities and a two hour lunch.” He chuckles wickedly as he crawls into bed and rips off my panties. “
“Felix! You cad! Do we need the box?” I clap my hands excitedly.
“Of course, we need the box. Where is it?” He darts into my closet to retrieve it from our hiding place. After the last two went missing, we began to suspect Boris was getting rid of them during his visits. Since then, we’d been forced to take precautions.
Returning with it, he tosses it on the floor, spreads my legs roughly and sinks his face between my thighs. First licking slowly down the line of my shamefully moistened slit, he holds my legs tightly apart, stabbing his tongue deep inside me while I yelp and thrash about, begging him to stop torturing me. He shakes his head.
“Has my girl been bad?” He flicks my clit while he fingers me, drawing out each moan until I answer.
“No, no, I’ve been so good. I promise.” I whimper as he strokes harder, latching on to my clit, and bringing my climax tumbling forward within seconds.
“Felix! Oh fuck! Not so fast!” As he fingers me mercilessly, I tremble and howl, slamming my hips in a state of ecstasy. Stopping suddenly, he rises and shows me his painfully-hard cock.
“How good have you been? I know you let him stay here during your day off, baby. Why? Do you prefer him? Do you like the crazy Russian more than me?” He narrows his eyes before dipping his cock in my wetness, teasing me with it.
“Felix! Have you been watching me? Are you as crazy as him?” I sit up, but he pushes me back down, spreading my knees to my shoulders.
“I see things, Allegra. And I am crazy when it comes to you.” Thrusting hard, he sinks his cock all the way in, making me gasp in surprise, before I wrap my legs around his ass and push him deeper.
“Stop talking and make me cum.” I drive up, fucking him back, just the way he likes it until he takes over, stretching his long body over me and sending me into another dimension. Felix has the stamina of a bull and I love when he rides me hard.
Lying in tangled, sweaty sheets, we are both too exhausted to speak. Taking my hand in his, he kisses it sweetly and drags me over to his side of the bed. I gaze into his pale green eyes and nestle my face into his neck. I don’t love him, but I know he loves me and that bothers me. Unlike Boris, Felix is married. He claims it’s loveless but after ten years, he’s never bothered to get divorced. Something tells me he’s getting ready to change that.
Chapter 4
Boris
“Boris, Boris!” Ivan slams on my desk and demands I say something about his daughter’s ultrasound photo.
“Ivan, I can’t see anything. I mean, I see her face, but I’m not seeing this alleged smile.” I cover my face and tug my hair in frustration. He's not letting me get any work done and I can’t dig deeper into Linus’s background with him watching me.
“You’re blind. Why do I pay you so much? You can’t even see something so obvious. I was talking to her and she smiled at her papa. What’s the matter with you anyway? What are you looking at?” He yanks at my papers and starts reading.
“Allegra Isabella Valeri? Who’s she? Did she do something to me? Should I be concerned? Is she a narc?” His eyes grow wide, before a scowl covers his face.
“No. This doesn’t concern you.” I attempt to put them back in my folder, but he pulls them away again.
“Oh.” He grins. “I see. Miss Allegra Valeri. You have the hots for an Italian girl. A young Italian girl who graduated from Columbia. I always knew you were a snob. You go to Columbia so you gotta find someone who went there too? You’re so fancy. Wait a minute, this girl is connected to Maude Whittaker. Is she a pro?”
“What? No. Why would you say that?” My chest tightens. I’ve never told Ivan about Allegra because I don’t want her touching this side of my life, or really, I don’t want this side of my life touching her. I’ve certainly never mentioned Maude to him.
“Maude. I remember her. Before I met Lena, when I
didn’t think I would ever get married, someone told me about Maude. She fixes up older rich guys with young mistresses, but they’re not just mistresses, at least that’s not what they’re called. I almost did it, but then I met Lena. This girl lives on Park, she must have a couple of whales.” He continues to read through the paperwork and mumbles to himself. “I don’t remember anyone on the list having a degree from Columbia. Are you thinking about doing this? God knows you need to get laid, you’re always on edge.”
“I’ve been seeing her for the last year. I’m always on edge because I share her with two other men, and it is driving me out of my fucking mind.” I sigh out loud and pull up her photo on my phone. “This is her.”
“Goddamn, she is hot. You share her? Were you okay with it before and then changed your mind? I can’t share my woman. Hell, it bugs me just knowing Lena is out having fun without me. I feel like I’m missing out on something that’s reserved for us to have together.” I furrow my brow in confusion, and he explains. “It’s a sickness. I’m not proud.”
“I was never okay with it, but I thought I would be. I thought it was for the best and I would grow out of it. I don’t want to bring someone into all of this. Aren’t you worried for your daughter? Don’t you worry for Lena?” I cover my face with my hands and try not to have a panic attack. I don’t want to think about Felix and Allegra together. I’ve sent him an offer to buy him out and he refuses to answer. This shit can’t continue.
“I do. All the time. But I couldn’t not be with Lena. We met in a similar situation. I was paying for her services, so to speak. Not necessarily sex, but I won’t say more.”
“Everyone knows about the lactation brothel, Ivan. You told Yuri. You know your brother has a huge mouth.” I roll my eyes and wait for him to continue.
“Fucking Yuri. Anyway, I knew she was for me the second we met. It was magic. She didn’t know it, but I knew it was only a matter of time before she did. These things are fated, Boris. She had other clients, but I was slowly picking them off, one by one. Vasiliy and Dimitri would wait outside before their scheduled time, rough them up a bit and tell them to stop coming back.” He chuckles to himself.
“What are you suggesting?”
“Seriously? I know you’re a lawyer, but you work for criminals. Use your imagination. You have my brigadiers at your disposal. They don’t request shit. They’ll make them run back to their wives and leave your woman alone. Allow me to handle this. It would be my pleasure. Keep your hands clean. Don’t worry, no one will get more than slapped around. Besides, Lena needs some new friends, Anya bores her to tears. Speaking of Anya--”
“I’m not going to the ballet.” I cut him off. “And don’t do anything yet. Let me handle this. I need to talk to her first. She doesn’t know about all of this. She doesn’t know about you or what I do. Maybe she has an idea, but I’ve never come out and told her I’m Bratva.”
Leaning back in his seat, he smirks. “Are you ashamed?”
“Incredibly.”
“Fine. I’ll hold off…momentarily. Just hurry up and get married. I can’t handle these bullshit double dates Lena sets up for us.”
Chapter 5
Allegra
Boris won’t stop texting. He wants to take me out of town this weekend. I can’t go anywhere with him. He’s my kryptonite. It’s his eyes, I can’t stop thinking about the way he looked at me when he left yesterday. He’s never told me he loves me, not awake, or sober. Many times, while he’s sleeping and a few times when he’s had too much to drink, but I don’t count those. Whenever I think he might say the words, I’ve changed the subject and fortunately, he’s gotten the hint. After Russell, I don’t want to love anyone again. Especially not in this situation.
Damn him. No man should have eyes that blue. Maybe it’s a peacock thing and that’s the weapon he uses to lure females. I feel heartsick. It’s only been a day and I miss him desperately. He looked so handsome in his gray suit---my favorite one with the little vest. I was furious but I couldn’t make myself look away. Felix keeps trying to convince me he’s a mob lawyer, perhaps hoping it will turn me off. He claims he’s far too wealthy for the amount of leisure time he has to spend with me. The sad part is, I’m not sure I care. No one’s ever looked at me the way Boris does. Sometimes I think he’s the only reason I’m still doing this. No, no, no. Get your shit together, Allegra. You’re not supposed to fall in love. That’s how you got into this situation in the first place.
“Allegra! Over here.” Macy hollers at me, drawing attention from other patrons as I slink through the crowd, attempting to go unnoticed. Sitting next to her, Sienna Phillips shields her face in embarrassment.
“Jesus, Mace. Lower your voice.” I smile nervously, signaling the waiter over before taking my seat. Macy Sinclair is something of a mentor. She’s been a courtesan a few years and about to negotiate her fourth year at the tender age of 24. She spent the first two years with two men, but the last year, she’s been kept exclusively by one. He’s ten years older than Felix, my oldest, but it doesn’t seem to bother her. Sienna started two months before me and has three lovers, all in their forties.
“Maude is on her way. How are you, sugar?” Macy sips her chardonnay and gives me a sympathetic look.
“I’m fine. Why? What have you heard?” Uncomfortable with any type of pity, and unsure why someone like her would feel sorry for me, I narrow my eyes suspiciously.
“Nothing yet. Maude said she needed to speak to you about something important. But you look a bit frazzled. I promise it’s not a loaded question---how are you? Last time we spoke you said Boris’s jealousy was getting worse.” She tilts her head and softens her expression.
Slumping down in my seat, I exhale and sigh out loud. “It is much worse than before. He keeps trying to buy out Felix and Linus has been forced to cancel this week because someone is making his wife suspicious. That must be Boris. Or who knows, maybe it’s Felix. They’re both acting strange.”
Sienna smiles and reaches for a piece of bread. “When I first started, I had a quick meet and greet with your Boris.” She chuckles before gluttonously stuffing the bread in her mouth. “I thought I’d died and gone to heaven. I’ve never found gingers attractive, but he wears it so well. He was charming enough to get through the whole meeting before telling Maude I was not his type. It was such a shame, too. We would have gone so perfectly together. I’ve often wondered what he’s like in bed. For the sake of my shattered ego, I told myself he’s got to be terrible. Men that gorgeous usually are.” She drinks some wine and leans in, expecting me to confirm it.
“He isn’t. He’s incredible.” I state matter-of-factly, making Macy spit out some water and Sienna wrinkle her nose in irritation. The hell they would have been perfect together.
“Goddammit, I hate you.” Sienna shoves more bread in her mouth just as Maude takes her seat.
Apologizing for her tardiness, she orders her usual dry martini and proceeds to give us an update about two new girls who are in the process of choosing candidates. It’s always a tough adjustment and her guidance is limited. Whenever possible, one of the veterans will take a new girl under their wing and show them the ropes. If you’ve never done this before and you don’t have a ton of experience having meaningless sex, it’s tough not getting attached. Macy was a great help in that arena. Both Felix and Boris continuously overstepped their boundaries in the beginning and if I had not had her guidance to rein them in, I could have made things far worse than they are now.
Linus has always been easy. He’s younger and although he’s kind of a newlywed, I get the impression his marriage was slightly arranged. In their world, money likes to stay with money. He might love his wife, but not enough to be faithful. Instead of having indiscreet affairs, his father paid for a courtesan. We have a simple relationship. When we’re together, we have sex. When I’m with Felix or Boris, we have sex, cook, watch television, have more sex, play chess, play cards, have more sex, travel out of town, go shopping, take
naps, and so much more. As I said, Linus is the easiest.
“Allegra, have you spoken to Linus, today?” Maude slaps her forehead, remembering something important.
Nodding, I reply. “He text earlier. He had to cancel tomorrow and Thursday. He thinks someone is feeding Grace information about us. He said we would talk soon. Why?”
Shaking her head as she takes a long swig from her martini, she leans in. “He is being bought out. He hasn’t given me the details yet, but it did not sound like something he wants to do. He mentioned how he didn’t have a choice and he was hoping he could say goodbye to you. He’s going to call me later today. I’ll know more then.”
“Wait a minute. Bought out by whom? Felix or Boris? Not someone else? I’m not just going to take on someone I’ve never met, Maude!” I panic as the thought of a new third man sets in.
“Of course not, it would have to be one of the two. He was so quick. I didn’t get to find out which one. I’ll find out today, I promise. Have either of them given you a clue?”
“They’ve both mentioned it. Boris has been especially angry and hostile towards the other two lately.” I wiggle in my seat anxiously. What if Felix bought him out? Oh no. I can’t handle being with Felix so many days out of the week. But what if it’s Boris? Isn’t that what I want? No. Boris four days a week will send me over the edge. If I spend four days with him, the two days I spend with Felix will be torture. It’s all too much. Perhaps it’s best to end everything once and for all. I can take my money and leave. I’ve saved most of my allowances. There’s enough money to start a new life in a small town and live for a few years. I could go to Vermont or Maine. No one knows me there. I can start fresh and get a normal job. But my place, I’ll lose everything. After a whole year of putting up with three men, I’ll lose everything!
